API and webhooks: build on EngagedMD with fewer surprises

The problem it solves

Integrations hit the gaps: a patient swap returned a confusing error, adding a module via the API failed when there was no active episode while adding a form quietly created one, forms couldn't carry a due date, and phone-only patients couldn't be created at all. There was no way to be told when something happened in EngagedMD without polling.

API and webhooks: build on EngagedMD with fewer surprises
What's included
  1. Webhooks. Subscribe to events in EngagedMD and receive them in your own systems.
  2. Consistent episode handling. Any assignment endpoint creates an episode when none is current.
  3. Patient swaps create a new episode. The documented behavior is the actual behavior.
  4. Due dates on forms. The forms endpoint accepts a due date so reminders and dashboards work for API-assigned forms.
  5. Phone-only patients via API. Practices using phone login can create patients without an email.
  6. Messaging API. Fetch messages programmatically.
